Director

Rose Miscioscia

“As director of Child’s World for the past several years, I’m honored to work with such a passionate, experienced, and professional staff.”

Rose holds an M.S. in Childhood Education from St John’s University. As a young teacher, Rose worked on the elementary and preschool levels. Having helped to develop a thriving preschool program in her earlier years, she has always recognized the value of a quality early childhood program.

“As an educator and a mom of 4 in Port Washington, I was so grateful to have Child’s World teachers guiding my children through their first years at school. Having completed my thesis ‘Learning Through a Play-Based Curriculum’ through research at Child’s World, I have come to know these teachers as the finest in early childhood.

Administrative Assistant

Angela Krayeski

Angela lives in Port Washington with her husband Jake and two daughters. A former parent of Child’s World, she began working at the school in 2011 and is currently holds the position of Administrative Assistant. Prior to Child’s World, Angela was an associate in Human Resources for Goldman, Sachs & Co. for 20 years before leaving to stay home to care for her children.
Angela is CPR and First Aid Certified.

Missy Fernandez

Missy Fernandez holds a CDA and has been at Child’s World for over 10 years, she currently leads the toddler program. Missy’s creativity, love for cooking, and nurturing spirit are a constant influence in her classroom.

Missy is a longtime resident of Port Washington and Mom to 3 Child’s World Alumni.

Debbie Oxenhorn

Ms. Debbie has been in education since 1996. After completing a Masters of Education at Fordham University, Debbie went on to work for New York City PS 151 in the acclaimed District 2. After moving to Long Island to raise her family, Debbie has returned to her passion of teaching and working with young children. She has been a “Mommy and Me” teacher for over 9 years and enjoys mentoring new moms as well as watching young children explore, play, socialize, and learn. Debbie is passionate about the “Transitions” program and feels thankful to be able to create wonderful memories.

Erica Buckley

Ms. Erica Buckley completed her B.S. in Human Development and Family Studies with a concentration in Early Childhood at the University of Rhode Island. In her early career, Erica did extensive social work with adolescents and families. She has been with Child’s World for over 5 years and currently is a Head Teacher in our 2-year-old program.

Erica is Mom to 2 Child’s World alumni and is an active community leader as she serves on the Guggenheim Board, is a former PRC Board Member and Boy Scout Troop Leader.

Erica is CPR and First Aid Certified.

Pre-K Head Teacher

Angela Wyszomierski

Angela has been teaching at Child’s World Nursery School for many years. She has worked as a head teacher in both the three-year old and four-year old classrooms and at the school’s Summer Camp program. She is currently a co-head teacher in our Universal Pre-K class.

Angela holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Elementary Education (Preschool through grade 6). She holds a Master of Science degree in Early Childhood Education. She is a permanently certified New York State early childhood teacher. Angela is a member of the National Association for the Education of Young Children. She resides with her family in Manhasset, NY.

Pre-K Head Teacher

Sydney Fernandez

Sydney first came to know Child’s World as a preschooler. As a Child’s World alumni, Sydney returned to the program as a teen volunteer and was inspired to pursue her studies in Early Childhood Education. As graduate of Kutztown University, Sydney completed her practicum in inner city schools with a diverse population of students. Sydney currently teaches Pre-K and is working towards completing her Masters Degree in Early Childhood Education..

Sydney is CPR and First Aid trained.

Lisa Hatam

Lisa was born and raised in Port Washington and lives in town with her husband and four boys who are all Child’s World alumni.

Lisa holds a Master of Science in Education from Hofstra University. She’s currently Head Teacher for our 4 Day 3’s class.

Lisa is CPR and First Aid Certified.

Sabrina Drazic

This is Sabrina’s third year at Child’s World Nursery School where she currently holds the position of Head Teacher in our 3-year-old program.  Sabrina came to Child’s World with over 8 years teaching experience working with elementary school children in various grades.  She taught third and fifth grade in the Port Washington School District and resigned just a couple of years ago.  Sabrina has been teaching the January 2’s program at Child’s World for the past two years.  Through her studies and experiences, Sabrina believes that the most meaningful learning happens through hands on experiences and purposeful play.

Sabrina Drazic is a graduate of Adelphi University where she received a Bachelor’s in Accounting and then returned a few years later to receive a Master’s Degree in Elementary Education.  Sabrina holds a permanent NYS Teaching Certificate.

Sabrina and her husband Andrew live in Port Washington and are parents to twin girls, Mia and Isabella that are 16 and graduates of Child’s World Nursery School.

Denise DePalma

Denise DePalma is a graduate of Hamilton College with Bachelor of Arts in French. She has always loved working with children and also volunteers her time at the Lutheran Church of Our Savior in Port Washington, as their Sunday School Teacher and Council President. Her two sons are CWNS alumni and are currently a sophomore in college and junior in high school.
